Tá an scoil faoi Phatrúnacht an Easpaig Chaitlicí (Port Láirge agus Lios Mór). Cé gur bunscoil Chaitliceach í, tugtar aitheantas inti do gach reiligiúin agus creideamh eile.

Searmanaisí scoile:
Is i Rang a Dó a déantar an Chéad Aithrí agus an Chéad Chomaoin de ghnáth. Ullmhaíonn na múinteoirí ranga na páistí don sacraimint le tacaíocht iontach ón mbaile agus ó Shéiplíneach na scoile an tAthair Michael Enright.
Is céiliúradh mór clainne é Lá na Chéad Chomaoine. Tar éis an searmanais, bíonn fáilte roimh chuairteoirí na bpáistí (agus rompu féin dar ndóigh!), teacht chun na scoile le haghaidh cóisir bheag.
Is mar chuid d’ullmhúcháin an Chóineartaithe é Searmanas an tSolais. Déantar an Cóineartú i Rang a 6 a cheiliúradh le scoil áitiúil, An Garrán Bán, i Séipéal Naomh Aibhistín, Dún na Mainistreach.
Scoil Gharbháin is under the patronage of the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore. Although we are a Catholic school, each faith and belief is respected and valued.
School Chaplin: Fr. Michael Enright.
Sacraments
The children make their First Confession/ Reconciliation and their First Holy Communion in Second Class. The teachers and Fr. Michael Enright (our School Chaplin) prepare the children for the sacrament during school hours. Parental / guardian support is extremely important in their preparation for this sacrament. The First Communion Day is a day of celebration for family and friends of the children.
The Ceremony of Light is part of the preparation for Confirmation. The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated in Sixth Class with a school from our local community – Garranbane N.S in St. Augustine’s’ Church, Abbeyside.
